Trump Delivers Stark Ultimatum to Putin: "10 or 12 Days" for Peace

In a significant escalation of pressure, Donald Trump has issued a severe warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, setting a tight deadline for a resolution to the Ukraine conflict. Trump declared that Putin now has only "10 or 12 days" to agree to a peace deal, or Russia will face a new wave of punitive measures, including secondary tariffs.

This stark ultimatum marks a dramatic reduction from Trump's earlier proposed 50-day window for a ceasefire. The former President expressed deep disappointment with Putin, stating that the Russian leader has not honored his word regarding peace talks while simultaneously intensifying attacks on Ukraine. "I'm not interested in talking to him about it now," Trump reportedly stated, indicating a shift from potential diplomatic engagement to a more coercive stance.

The consequences of failing to meet this new deadline are clear: Russia will be subjected to significant secondary tariffs, with an official announcement regarding these measures potentially imminent. This move signals a resolute intent to impose substantial economic pressure should Moscow continue its aggression.

Beyond economic sanctions, the United States is also poised to bolster military support for the region. Trump indicated that the U.S. would dispatch Patriot missile systems and batteries to NATO, a move designed to strengthen defensive capabilities and provide further assurance to allies in the face of ongoing hostilities.

This latest development underscores the international community's growing impatience with the prolonged conflict in Ukraine. Trump's direct and forceful warning, coupled with the threat of severe economic repercussions and enhanced military aid to NATO, signals a critical juncture in the ongoing efforts to bring an end to the war. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether Putin responds to this ultimatum, or if Russia chooses to face the impending economic consequences and a further fortified Western alliance.
