PM Modi Stands Firm Amidst Rahul Gandhi's Parliament Dare
New Delhi – In a high-stakes parliamentary session today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a resolute response to Rahul Gandhi's challenge concerning "Operation Sindoor," India's swift retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack. The debate, centered on national security and foreign policy, saw both leaders engage in a heated exchange that captivated the nation.
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, had pressed the Prime Minister to publicly contradict President Donald Trump's repeated claims of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. Gandhi questioned the government's strategic clarity and alleged that restrictions were imposed on the Indian Air Force during the strikes, suggesting a lack of political will. He further dared PM Modi to call Trump a "liar" if his claims were indeed false.
Prime Minister Modi, in his address, unequivocally rejected the notion of any foreign mediation in India's sovereign actions. He asserted that no world leader had dictated India's response or asked it to halt its operations. Referencing his interaction with a US Vice President during the operation, PM Modi stated he conveyed India's firm resolve to make Pakistan pay a heavy price for any hostile intent.
PM Modi lauded the Indian armed forces for their swift and decisive action in Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that they were given "full freedom" to execute the strikes. He highlighted that India avenged the Pahalgam attack in just 22 minutes, successfully targeting terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. "Today, Pakistan's air bases are in ICU," he stated, underlining the impact of India's precision strikes.
The Prime Minister also strongly criticized the Congress party, accusing it of undermining the nation's morale and echoing Pakistan's narrative. He stated that while the world supported India's counter-terrorism efforts, the Congress unfortunately seemed to be "importing issues from Pakistan" for political gain. He contrasted the decisive actions of his government with what he termed the "one-way traffic of 'Aman Ki Asha'" (hope for peace) with Pakistan under previous administrations.
The parliamentary debate underscored the sharp ideological divide between the ruling party and the opposition on matters of national security.
